Prom photography at Stock Brook, near Billericay
Evening sunshine outside, friends gathering for photographs and a busy dance floor indoors. I photographed this school prom at Stock Brook on 7 July 2026, with a mix of portraits and moments from the celebration around them.
The venue is in Stock, near Billericay, Essex. Its grounds gave the outdoor photographs their setting before the collection moves inside to the dancing, fairy lights and disco ball.
Friends, evening portraits and the prom dance floor
The photographs start with guests arriving and greeting one another outside Stock Brook Country Club. There are larger groups, portraits of two friends and closer views in the low evening sun, alongside laughter and conversations between the posed pictures.
Indoors, the photographs take in guests sitting and talking as well as the dance floor: raised hands, friends with arms around one another and a wider view beneath the hanging lights. Select a photograph to view it larger.
Room for portraits and the party around them
A prom collection needs room for the photographs people stop for and the moments they don’t. Here, full-length groups show the outfits and the setting, while the closer portraits bring the attention back to the people. The changing evening light becomes part of the photographs too.
The less organised pictures sit alongside them: a greeting outside, someone laughing in a group and friends dancing together later on. Having both gives you a fuller view of the evening than a run of formal portraits alone.

Your Essex photographer for a prom or school celebration
I’m Jonathan Owen, an Essex photographer working professionally since 2003. For a prom, I bring together portraits, groups and photographs of the celebration as it happens, with the people at the centre of the collection.
You can discuss timings, the photographs you need and any school requirements with me before the evening. I’m DBS checked and insured, and you deal with me directly through the planning. I personally select and edit the finished photographs afterwards.
