Essex Photographer for Leading Brands, Events, Professional and Venues

With years of experience as a portrait and event photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing memorable moments at a wide range of events, working with renowned brands, venues, and professionals across the industry. From corporate conferences to product launches and private events, my event photography services are tailored to suit every occasion. When Did I Start out as a Photographer in Essex?

I started taking photos at events in my home town in Essex in the early 2000’s, mostly nightclub events and private parties at the prominent venues including Talk Nightclub (formerly known as Tots), The Royal Hotel in Southend High Street, Essex, The Sunrooms, Zinc nightclub, and various other party venues. I then progressed further afield and became the official event photographer at the Sugar Hut in Brentwood during it’s The Only Way is Essex heyday and captured various events at the major concert venue the Cliffs Pavilion and a range of major artists at V Festival in Chelmsford. From there I have travelled around Europe supporting bands and artists, but always stayed true to my Essex roots.

How would you describe your style of photography?

Specialising in reportage photography, I aim to narrate an event’s story through images, similarly with portrait photography I like to use natural light and natural moments to capture the best in my subjects. For the most-part I try and avoid overly staged photos, but of course am happy to take a few group shots if the occasion calls for it!

How many photos does a photographer usually deliver for an event?

This very much depends on the event, the length of the booking, and the number of guests. As a ballpark figure I can safely say that 100+ photos is the minimum I deliver per event, although it goes without saying the more time a photographer has to shoot an event, the better quality and broader range of photos he or she may deliver.

*Top tip: If you want to ensure you get the best value from your photographer, make sure they have enough time to do their job. By this I don’t just mean the booking itself, but also easy access to the areas they need to get to (the right passes, clearance, and notifying the right people), easy to access refreshments (when photographing an event such as a festival queuing at bars can eat up a lot of time!), and assistance getting photos of the right people (a timetable of events, introductions to the CEO or person who’s birthday it is are always a plus!).

Essex and towns and cities within Essex such as Colchester, Chelmsford, Southend-on-Sea and Brentwood tend to be the main areas I work in, however I am available for bookings wherever I am needed given enough notice. Get in touch with me to discuss your event location.

What do you charge for travel to event locations in and around Essex?

Based in Leigh-on-Sea, I offer complimentary travel within Southend-on-Sea borough from Leigh-on-Sea to Shoeburyness. Beyond that, it’s £1 per mile.

To book my Essex photography services, a 30% deposit is required, guaranteeing your time booked out in my schedule, with the remainder billed closer to the event date.
