Events, people and places
My work takes me across Essex for birthday parties, corporate celebrations, festivals and weddings, with portrait sessions and photography lessons alongside them. I’m based near Southend-on-Sea and have worked professionally as a photographer since 2003.

Getting married? My wedding photography includes longer coverage, while Short & Simple is for straightforward weddings needing one to two hours. Southend-on-Sea and Leigh-on-Sea are close to my base. My local work includes a wedding at Leigh Community Centre and festival photography at Priory Park. I also cover Rochford and the surrounding area.

There’s a useful difference between knowing a place on a map and having photographed an occasion there. My Essex work spans community venues, country-house celebrations, music events and wedding gatherings.
In 2026, I photographed a corporate gala at Hatfield Place, a school prom at Stock Brook Country Club and a corporate festival at Browning Bros in Great Tey. Around Leigh and Rochford, my wedding experience includes Leigh Community Centre, The Boatyard and The Lawn. I’ve also photographed at Colchester Town Hall and Colchester Castle.
Those are examples of past work, rather than a list of venues you need to choose from. Your occasion sets the brief: the people you want photographed, the important parts of your schedule and how much of the day you’d like covered. My approach is mainly observational, with group photographs and a little direction where they suit what you want.

Yes. My coverage is mainly natural and observational, but we can include organised groups or lightly directed photographs to suit your occasion. Let me know which people or combinations matter to you when we discuss the plans.

I select and edit your photographs and send them through a private, password-protected online gallery, unless we’ve agreed another delivery method. You can download individual photographs or the complete gallery at full quality, and share the link and password with the people you choose.
Standard non-wedding event galleries are delivered in 7–10 days, depending on workload. Wedding galleries, including Short & Simple, are delivered within 21 days. If you have a particular deadline, mention it when you enquire so we can discuss what’s possible for your booking.
I carry public liability insurance, am DBS checked and bring backup equipment. I record to dual memory cards and back up the photographs after the shoot. Please mention any specific venue or organiser requirements when you enquire.
