A 70th birthday party at The Hadleigh Suite, Essex

The Hadleigh Suite became a vibrant party venue for this 70th birthday on 7 August 2026. A cosy setting in Hadleigh, Essex, was filled with family, friends, birthday decorations and the sort of warm welcomes that make an evening feel special before the dancing has even started.

The family were lovely, the cake was amazing and there was plenty of fun to photograph. My coverage mixed natural moments and reportage with posed photographs together, keeping the people at the centre of the celebration.

He made my guests all feel comfortable & he mingled amongst everyone throughout the evening capturing great magical moments. Warm welcomes, family portraits and the dance floor

Hugs and greetings run through the photographs alongside group portraits by the birthday balloons. The decorations and purple dragon cake add their own details, while conversations around the room show the quieter moments between the celebrations.

A birthday surprise with photographs to return to

Jill’s son had booked the photography as a surprise for her 70th birthday. It was lovely to be part of that gift, and her review describes the pleasure of looking back through both the group photographs and the moments she hadn’t noticed during the evening.

That’s something I enjoy about photographing a family party. There are pictures everyone knows they’re part of, and others that happen while they’re talking, greeting someone or getting involved on the dance floor. Together they give you more of the evening to look back on.
