A 40th birthday at The Old Regent Ballroom, Essex

The Old Regent Ballroom in Stanford-le-Hope was a beautiful setting for this 40th birthday on 15 August 2026. A lovely family, a DJ and guests who were happy to get dancing made it an enjoyable evening to photograph.

This collection brings together the party’s details, conversations around the tables and photographs from the dance floor. Closer portraits sit alongside the laughter and smaller moments around the room.

Family moments and the birthday dance floor

The birthday cake, decorations and venue details help set the scene, with guests talking, laughing and taking photographs together as the evening gets going. Later images move towards the DJ desk and the dance floor beneath the mirror ball.

Photographing the people enjoying your party

I enjoyed working with the family and following the party around the room. The DJ and guests brought plenty of fun to the evening, while the photographs around the tables kept the quieter conversations in the story too.

For a birthday, those different views work well together. A photograph with someone you came to celebrate with sits alongside a moment of laughter or dancing that you might otherwise have missed.
