Vintage fair photography at Garons Park, Southend-on-Sea
Vintage clothes, jewellery, collectables and plenty of conversation filled Haddon Events’ fair at Garons Park on 11 October 2026. These photographs bring together the people browsing the stalls, portraits around the hall and closer views of the objects on display.
The fair took place at Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre on Eastern Avenue in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. It’s a collection with room for the shopping, a cup of tea and the occasional dog receiving rather a lot of attention.

Vintage finds and the people around the stalls
Clothes rails, handbags, beaded jewellery and coloured glass bottles give the photographs plenty of detail. The people provide the other half of the story: someone trying on a hat, visitors examining a small find and conversations continuing across the displays.

Photographing a fair through its visitors and details
A vintage fair gives me small details to photograph wherever I look: the shape of a glass bottle, an embroidered outfit or a row of ceramic animals. Keeping those pictures beside the people browsing helps show what drew their attention.
The photographs also leave space for the pauses between stalls. Tea at a table, friends stopping together and a conversation over a clothes rail all help describe the day. They’re useful parts of the collection alongside the photographs of things for sale.
